Thomas Cromwell
Thomas Cromwell, the King's formidable Principal Secretary, was at the height of his power in summer 1535 when he joined the Royal Progress.
‘So the king,’ he says. ‘From Gloucester, he strikes out to Thornbury. Then Nicholas Poynz’s house at Iron Acton: does Poynz know what he’s letting himself in for?’
Hilary Mantel, the last page of Wolf Hall
Discover the pivotal changes in religion and politics as Cromwell evaluates the loyalties and practices of the land. Thomas Cromwell is played by Chris Rew of the Tudor Players.

Sunday 29 June
Waytes and Measures
Waytes and Measures, a group of singers and musicians, based in northern Gloucestershire, will be playing and singing music from Medieval times up to the mid 16th Century.
